The Top 8 Recommended Appliances for Your Healthy Kitchen

by BodyEcology.com

Do you want to outfit your kitchen with tools and appliances that make preparing delicious and healthy recipes like those in the Body Ecology diet easy?

Do you want to give your friends and family top-rated gifts for their kitchen that they will appreciate for many years to come?

Great appliances make Body Ecology cooking fun and easy!

We polled our team members - a variety of individuals who have long been dedicated to preparing foods at home, including Body Ecology founder Donna Gates, Certified Body Ecologists and others -- to come up with these top picks in several key categories.

(PLEASE NOTE: If you do intend to purchase any of these items, we kindly ask that you click on the links from this article when ordering from the online store the links lead you to, as BodyEcology.com gets a small portion of the proceeds that we will use to bring you this free newsletter and other BodyEcology.com resources.)

Top-Recommended Food Dehydrator

We love food dehydrators at Body Ecology because they allow us to make a variety of versatile snacks. Here are some things we love about dehydrators:

Our staff favorite is the Excalibur food dehydrator because it dries evenly, cleans up quickly AND is incredibly easy to use.

The 9-tray Excalibur is the model of choice for people who want to make larger quantities of food.

The 4-tray Excalibur is great for apartments or small spaces because it is much smaller.

Top-Recommended Food Processors

Food processors are the workhorses of the kitchen and can perform all kinds of functions these days. Here's why our staff thinks food processors are indispensable:

For the at-home cook who loves professional quality appliances - or if you do run a professional or semi-professional food preparation service -- the Robot Coupe is a top recommendation. For those who make high volume cultured vegetables or cook for a large family, the Robot Coupe is well worth the investment. The Robot Coupe can process huge amounts of vegetables in a short period of time, handle the most delicate pureeing and everything in between!

An excellent and considerably less expensive alternative is the Cuisinart food processor. Both the Classic 7 cup processor and the stainless steel 14 cup model take care of most food prep needs, and for a reasonable price.

Top-Recommended Mixer

For mixers, we absolutely love the Vita-Mix , and no other mixer gets nearly as high a recommendation from us as this one.
Some of the staff's praise for the Vita-Mix:

TIP: For a boost to your inner ecosystem, how about these high-fiber vegetables into Cultured veggie juices?

Top Recommended Cookware and Utensils

Le Creuset cookware is very highly recommended for cooking all types of foods. While with virtually every other type of cookware you have to be concerned with the food reacting with the surface resulting in an unhealthy situation for you, with Le Creuset you never have to worry about food reacting to its porcelain enamel surface.

These cast iron and enamel pots heat evenly, last forever, and look attractive in your kitchen. Le Creuset's enameled cast iron has also been recognized as one of "the best materials available for cookware because it retains heat and promotes gentle, even cooking at low heat ensuring that the best flavor is brought out from the ingredients." An excellent gift!

Ball Jars (we like the quart-sized wide mouth) are indispensable for cultured vegetables and kefir.

This extra-sturdy and ergonomically designed fine wire mesh strainer is a top recommendation.

Fine wire mesh strainers are a must for rinsing grains, nuts and seeds after soaking.

A stainless steel wide-mouth funnel is a must for putting cultured veggies into jars.

The right tools like these above will make cooking easier, more precise and more fun … therefore they make a great gift to friends and loved ones (or yourself!)

Here are some great FREE Body Ecology recipes to get you started with your new kitchen appliances and tools. Happy Cooking!
