New Year’s Resolutions: Do You Have What It Takes to Achieve Your Goals?
It’s the first week back to your regular routine and already the desires you have for the New Year and the resolve to see them through are faltering.
If you enjoyed the holiday season a little too much and strayed from the Body Ecology Diet or have been waiting for the right time to make the big change in your health, weight, skin, mood, stress, or energy, this may be the threshold that will dictate how much of your 2011 will look.
Janus, the Roman god of gateways, doors, and entrances is an interesting chap. With two heads, each facing opposite directions, he represents the ability to review the past as well as envision a better future. This namesake of the month of January uses his dual nature to help people transition from one year to the next.
Janus is the namesake of the month of January and the god that helped people transition into the New Year. Today, we all still celebrate the ancient tradition of making New Year’s resolutions, so what will it take to make your New Year’s wishes come true this year?
While we are no longer worshiping exotic gods and goddesses the likes of Janus and his pals, most of us still engage in the ancient tradition of making New Year’s resolutions. The big question is however:
Why do only 10% of us realize our New Year’s Resolutions?
Scientists have examined this magical 10% and found several things this group has in common:
- They break their goals into smaller achievable increments.
- They reward themselves along the way.
- They share their New Year’s Resolutions with friends and family.
- They keep a diary of their journey.
When I read these studies, I had to smile. Finally science has proven what mystics have known for centuries.
How can you be part of that 10% who makes Body Ecology work for you in the New Year?
1. STEP BY STEP
There is no better time than the present to commit to your health and longevity. Start small and work at it by following Body Ecology’s Step by Step Principle. Incorporate a little probiotic beverage or a green’s drink daily. But don’t put it off and let it become a greater and greater obstacle as the year goes on.
2. BODY ECOLOGY DESSERTS
Make yourself a healthy treat to reward yourself for all the hard work. Why not try this delicious and nutritious Key Lime Ice Cream this year?
Ingredients:
- 4-5 cups coconut kefir cheese
- Juice of 3 limes
- 1/2 cup Lakanto
- Few drops Stevia (to taste)
- 1/8 tsp pure vanilla extract or vanilla bean
- Pinch Celtic Sea Salt
Process:
In a Vitamix or food processor, combine coconut kefir cheese and lime juice, and blend for about 1 minute. Add Lakanto, sea salt and vanilla and blend for another 30 seconds. Taste and add Stevia as needed. Pour into freezer-safe container or ice cream maker. Freeze until ready to enjoy!
*Note – If you do not have an ice cream maker, you will want to blend it once more before eating to get the creamiest consistency.
3. BODY ECOLOGY COMMUNITY
Organize a group of your friends and make a Body Ecology meal, fermented veggies, or coconut water kefir. These small gatherings have been building across the country and the feedback is always great as relatives and friends get a chance to support your efforts.
4. SHARE WITH US YOUR JOURNEY
Join Donna Gates-Body Ecology Diet on Facebook or email Body Ecology your creations and successes.
In order for our New Year’s Resolutions to be successful, we should not be attached to our wishes or the end result. We are encouraged to be in a neutral place when we decide what we want to change in our life.
For example, if you want to lose weight, you must first accept yourself and your present body. In other words, for the transformation to take place you have to love yourself for who you are before you embark on the journey of change. Kabbalah means “to accept” but also “to receive”.
We must accept who we are in order to be able to receive our wish of change.
So take stock of where you are now. Your weight, your energy, your skin, your stress, your overall health, and be appreciative of it and this opportunity you now have to move forward with positive energy in changing it.
A mysterious woman walked into my office one day and shared with me her New Year’s Resolution “to make a website that will help people manifest their wishes.” Being generous with her abundance, she offered to finance a free website dedicated to helping people create, share, and manifest their wishes.
DandelionRush.com lets you share your wishes, health goals, send others positive comments and energy, receive guidance, work with meditations, log your synchronicities, and much, much more.
