    4.0 Good ideas by Fox
This book has a lot of really good ideas. I'm finding it a fun place for inspiration when I get in a rut. A number the recipes don't give completed explanations of the cooking process but if you are savvy in the kitchen you can probably figure it out. (Posted on 11/17/2016)

When there was a special promotion to purchase this cookbook I thought, another cookbook! So glad I took advantage of the promotion! I love to cook and have been cooking for years so I was having trouble wrapping my mind around these changes! But, much to the surprise of my husband and myself we love the recipes! They also allow me to add or take away flavors to make it my own all while following the "diet" (Posted on 9/23/2016)
4.0 Keep it real by Jessica
Over the past 8 weeks, I've been using an anti-fungal protocol to reduce Candida overgrowth (stemming from previous antibiotic use). I already consume mostly veggies + clean animal protein, but wanted to learn more about Donna's approach to optimizing my gut. I cook nearly all of my meals at home, so this review is couched in the experience of an avid cook. Donna's dressing and side recipes are terrific! I keep a jar of dressing in the fridge for the week's salads. Her sides are delicious, and mostly simple.
I agree with her philosophy on grains (non-wheat/glutenous): soak them for much better digestion. Works really well for my family.
As far as personal results, I learned that I do much better when i incorporate starchy veggies daily. Especially at lunch and dinner. Without them, I am fatigued the next day. Also, it's best for me to incorporate sea veggies at lunch, rather than at dinnertime. The iodine stimulates my thyroid, which feels fine if i keep the amount of sea veg small and earlier in the day.
Overall, this is a great reference and cookbook for people who might be "lost" in the kitchen. In a future edition, I'd add more spices/dried herbs to the main meal and side recipes. To me, they are the secret to delicious flavor in a meal, which translates into more happy faces at the dinner table. :) (Posted on 9/12/2016)
    4.0 in process by Michele
I'm excited about the cookbook, my biggest issue is living in the country and getting all the ingredients is a long process. I am thankful for this cookbook as it will help me to be able to learn healthy meals for my family, healing my gut and hopefully preventing future problems for my kids. I wish I knew when I was younger, what I know now. I also wish the schools wouldn't give the kids candy, donuts, cookies, everytime you turn around...I have hope in training my kids using these meals Donna Gates has provided! (Posted on 8/24/2016)

5.0 I love it! by Bbelle
Not only is this is a beautiful book, the layout makes it much easier to read and to follow. I also appreciate the introduction, I am new to this information and have not yet finished the latest book, so I need the concepts re-enforced. Anyone could buy this and have enough information to implement change, and just get going. Color coded sections really work for me, I am a visual person and this just makes me enjoy using my book more.
    There are excellent explanations throughout,
I like to know what and why, then I can explain to hubby why he's eating a new way, it's all good! Finally, the food is good, first thing I made was the Holiday Millet and Amaranth, I turned it into stuffing for my turkey at Thanksgiving. I had not known about the oxylates, so I soaked seeds for 24 hours. Stuffing was super!
Another thing that has been very helpful was learning about making a brine, enough for 9 quarts of vegies, this has saved me considerable time and confusion from calculating how much starter and brine I needed. Now I use what I need and save the rest in the fridge till I'm ready to make more.
Thank you Donna for this wonderful, uncomplicated, and healthful book! (Posted on 1/3/2016)

When I first started the B.E.D, I was super hungry. Once I got the Living Cookbook and made some of the recipes, I felt satisfied. They are easy, made mostly with food you already have or are familiar with. My favorite section of the book is the soup section because I am pretty busy. It's easy to just heat that up and have with a side salad. (Posted on 11/2/2015)

I'm sure there are a ton of people who have read the Body Ecology book and wondered how in the world that they could possible live the Body Ecology lifestyle without a personal chef!!!

This cookbook has been the answer for me! I'm able to prepare my meals on Sunday for the following week, and Donna has broken the recipes down so easily, even my best friend's son (who's 8!) can follow them! I keep getting rave reviews from my family, and they have no idea that the "mashed potatoes" they're eating are actually cauliflower!

I am so pleased with this purchase, and I can honestly say that I'm officially a "Body Ecology cook in the kitchen!" Thank you Donna Gates! (Posted on 8/2/2015)

5.0 Happier and Healthier by carolyne
This cookbook has changed the way I eat by demonstrating how to incorporate a wider variety of vegetables into my diet, including ones that I rarely (if ever) ate, i.e., ocean and cultured vegetables. Some of my favorite recipes are: Omega 3 Nutrient Boost Smoothie (addicting, tastes like green lemonade), Creamy Dilled Cauliflower Soup (could work as a breakfast soup too – think savory Cream of Wheat), A Medley of Greens Soup (the added butternut squash, rosemary and nutmeg make this delicious), Homemade Vegetable Broth (wonderful sweet flavor due to the addition of turnip), Vegetable and Kelp Noodle Soup (had never tried kelp noodles before, favorably impressed). There are many, many more recipes that I look forward to trying. (I am on the 30-day detox so have not delved into the recipes that call for grain-like seeds or animal protein yet.) Added bonuses are lots of Notes pages to jot down recipe modifications and the spiral bound format for easy use. Highly recommended. (Posted on 6/16/2015)
