I recently returned to the US after spending a couple of months in Japan and my body was thrown completely off kilter. I decided to try digestive enzymes at the suggestion of a friend, and I am so thankful that I did. I would highly recommend them for anyone whose schedule/body clock is constantly changing. They completely took care of the painful bloating and bathroom yo-yo issues I was dealing with. Although I have not tried other brands, I have been looking at the labels of competing brands whenever I am in a health food store, and I have yet to find one that has the amount of different enzymes Assist offers. For someone like me, who doesn't want to have to monitor everything that goes into my mouth and doesn't want to have to take a ton of pills a day, this brand seems perfect. It covers whatever I may eat, whenever I may eat it. I recommend this product without hesitation.

I think the Body Ecology Diet is onto something when it comes to rebuilding your inner equilibrium and gut flora. Most diets disregard the importance of where both cleansing and healing all starts = the gut. Yes, it is vital to eat well but if your insides are out of balance you won't be able to assimilate the food and heal yourself effectively.

I started to take Assist Full Spectrum Enzymes to calm down my stomach. I used to gurgle a lot and produce gas, sometimes even pain. I now take one before a meal where I suspect this to happen (not before a simple breakfast, or before a vegetable soup or something like that) and it has the desired result. The enzymes are part of a multi-pronged support system for digestion - I take enzymes as well as cultured veggies and cocobiotic, so it is hard to determine which product is doing what. I will say that when I don't take the enzymes and am eating cooked meat, the meal stays heavier in my stomach. If I do include the enzyme, I don't even think about digestion because I have no signal to do so.

I've been long plagued with a series of digestive issues that I now suspect were tied to a weak digestive system, and especially too little stomach acid. I've been taking these enzymes in combination with Betaine HCL for the past month and note a qualitative difference in my health.
