Changing the Food Supply

I’ve decided to dedicate this newsletter to the work of a good friend in the hopes that it will make a difference in the food that is available to us.

I have spent the last 30 years teaching people to use food as medicine.

It has become increasingly difficult to purchase the high quality foods that are essential to rebuilding the immune system and recovering health.

Almost 15 years ago, I first met Jordan Rubin, right after he had healed himself of a devastating autoimmune disease. He has since gone on to create Garden of Life and write the best-selling The Maker’s Diet.

One statistic Jordan gave me recently was that farms are only required to feed cows 30% grass to call them organic and grass-fed.  It is because of the troubling nature of factory farming that I am writing you.

Jordan has purchased nearly 9,000 certified organic acres in Missouri and Georgia that will not only produce the quality of healing foods that I have recommended for years but also change the way Americans view truly sustainable farming. Or, at least, that is my hope.

Jordan’s company, Beyond Organic, is a direct to consumer model. I, like many of you, traditionally look at these companies skeptically. However, the quality of these products surpass what is available in the market today for most of us, and while I’m excited to use them myself, I believe they may be the right choice for you or a loved one dealing with chronic health problems.
