I was very excited to try the Kefir starter. I was making sauerkraut for years and was excited to see how simple kefir making was!

I purchased raw milk from the Amish grocery store. I had a few problems getting started, mostly because I kept missing things in the instructions. My first few batches were too sweet/liquidy, but then I figured it out successfully and the kefir tasted great!

After a little while, however, I realized that dairy was just not working out for me. So I decided to use sweetened coconut milk instead. As of yet, I haven't been able to make a successful batch. I have done everything the same as with the cow milk and even let the coconut milk sit longer, but still can't get it to ferment.

I really want it to work and am determined to keep trying, but have wasted several packets with my experimentation and it's getting expensive!
