India has so much to offer: yoga, Dal, coconut oil, spices, Sanskrit... And Neem.

Grown in India with worldwide fame, Neem has been loved for its miraculous medicinal values for the past 5,000 years!

The Free Tree of India

Large and full, the Neem tree, or Azadirachta Indica, is an evergreen tree that is found just about everywhere in India. It is part of every Indian home and because of its many healing powers, is often considered a focal point of worship.

The RX of Ayurvedic Herbs

Neem has been one of the most popular herbs of India and has 5,000 years worth of tricks up its sleeve. Used for everything from toothpaste to an insecticide, Neem is known by Indians as a virtual living pharmacy.

Mystical...Magical...Miraculous...

Neem has brought relief to an astounding number of ailments. So many, in fact, that there are actually too many to list.

But here are a just a few battles that Neem has fought and won; enough for you to keep a bottle close at hand in your herbal medicine cabinet:

  • Acne
  • Allergies
  • Eczema
  • Fungal Infections
  • Fever
  • Parasites
  • Arthritis
  • Athletes Foot
  • Burns
  • Gingivitis
  • Hives
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Headache
  • Strengthening the Immunity
  • Indigestion
  • Inflammation
  • Shingles
  • Viral Infections1

And remember, these are just a few of the conditions Neem can provide an answer for.

The Ayurvedic Response

Open up any book on Ayurvedic herbs and you're certain to find reference after reference on Neem's genuine effectiveness. In The Yoga of Herbs, Vasant Lad and David Frawley say, Neem is one of the most powerful blood-purifiers and detoxifiers in Ayurvedic usage.

They go on to describe the actions of neem as:
  • Antipryetic (able to take fevers down in one fell swoop!)
  • Alterative (produces gradual beneficial changes in the body without giving it a jolt and a shock)
  • Anthelmintic (gives unwanted parasites the old heave ho)
  • Antiseptic (shows unhealthy bacteria to the door with one swift kick in the pants)
  • Bitter Tonic (strengthens the organism)2

What's Not To Like?

The folks here at Body Ecology love Neem for many reasons but particularly because it's on the same team as we are for fighting fungi, parasites and viruses.

Although Neem definitely can show fungi and bacteria who's boss, it wouldn't lay a finger on beneficial intestinal flora.

But the effect Neem has on skin disorders is what really has us hooked.

Beauty is Only Skin Deep and Comes From Neem Powder

Neem is your largest external organ's best friend. It will take on almost any kind of skin disease without looking back and strives to eradicate every itch, rash, infection and allergy. 3

Used for treating skin problems for centuries, Neem contains Nimbidol and Gedunin which have excellent fungicidal properties.

How Does Neem Work?

Neem counteracts the excess sugar contents in the body. It inhibits the multiplication of viruses by combining with the skin cells. This blockage is what gives Neem its germicidal and anti allergic qualities.

It is highly effective in treating epidermal conditions such as acne, psoriasis and eczema and even dandruff! And because it's gentle and natural, it doesn't create side-effects.

And For a Closer Look...

Psoriasis: Neem's nemesis! In clinical studies, Neem was found to be as effective as coal tar and cortisone in treating psoriasis. Neem extracts can remove the redness and itching and improve the condition of the skin.

Eczema: Neem does it again! More studies indicate that even a light application of neem has effectively cured acute conditions of eczema.

Acne: For every teen that feels like they should be wearing a goalie face mask to school - Neem effectively kills the bacteria that cause acne and reduces inflammation!

Dandruff (and Dry Skin, Wrinkles, Itchy Scalp, Skin Ulcers and Warts): Yep, you got it - neem can tackle them all. It's amazing!4

  • I have been using NEEM capsules of Himalaya for about two months --2 capsules a day-- for treating H Pylori. Now no-one really told me , and neirher did i read anywhere that it can suppress/ eradicate the dreaded stomach bacteria. What happened was this: My teenaged daughter was using neem for her acne and i was suffering a lot from the HP infection. One day I thought "why not try this well known antibacterial for Hpylori?" and miraculously ( praise the Lord for that) it really knocked back the HP BIG TIME. I still continue to take Neem capsules, but some websites say it can damage the kidneys and liver- the neem capsules; while several other websites inform that NEEM CAN BE GOOD FOR LIVER! so its pretty contradictory. Can anyone pls tell me about the safety of Neem? I know in India its like the ultimate herb

  • I am from India and can vouch for Neem being safe. From the place I come from, nearly every household has a tree or two of Neem.
They use it for application on the body for various ailments. And some brave folks who brush their teeth with Neem stalks, have the best teeth of all.
